Once you have completed Preparing a Horse for Presentation you will be able to:

  1. Discuss and have knowledge about:

    • the reasons for trimming a horse. 

    • the reasons why an equine should not be trimmed.

  2. Pull a mane with a:

    • mane comb.

    • solo comb.

  3.  Pull a tail with a:

    • mane comb.

    • tail trimmer.

  4.  Trim:

    • the end of the tail. 

    • the feathers with a comb and scissors.

    • the face with a comb and scissors, or trimmers.

    • the ears with scissors. 

  5.  Create a bridle path.

  6. Hog a mane.

  7. Explain the reasons for plaiting a mane and tail.

  8. Plait up a mane using plaiting bands.

  9. Remove banded mane plaits.

  10. Plait up a mane using a needle and thread.

  11. Remove thread from mane plaits.

  12. Create a running plait on a long mane.

  13. Plait up a tail using plaiting bands.

  14. Plait up a tail using a needle and thread.

  15. Remove a tail plait.

  16. Bath a horse.

  17. Hot cloth a horse.
