Always tie up the horse whilst grooming.
Be observant of the horse’s mood whilst grooming, especially on sensitive areas.
Never kneel, or sit down whilst grooming.
However familiar you are with the horse, never crawl underneath their belly.
Never position yourself in an area where you could be trapped in the stable.

Wear a hard hat when grooming.
When standing directly behind the horse, stand as close to their hind legs as possible.
Use your voice to make sure the horse knows where you are at all times.
Never groom with gloves on.
