How To Remove a Double Bridle

Step 1

Unhook the curb chain from the near side link.


Step 1a

Do not undo the lipstrap.


Step 2

Undo the noseband.


Step 3

Unfasten the throatlash.


Step 4

Bring both sets of reins forward, then push the reins and the headpiece over the horse’s ear.


Step 5

Carefully allow the horse to spit out both bits from their mouth.

Remove the bridle and re-tie the horse back up.
