Fit 1

This strap should sit along the shoulder line.

A fist width should fit between the neck strap and the shoulder.

To shorten or lengthen alter by adjusting the buckle in the centre of the strap.


Fit 2

One hand’s width should fit between the top of the neck strap and the wither.


Fit 3

The neck strap should sit at the junction of the base of the neck and the start of the chest.


Fit 4

The two straps attached to either side of the D rings on the saddle should be attached with tension, without pulling on either the saddle or neck strap. They must be fitted at the same length on both sides.

 


Fit 5

One hand’s width between the chest and the girth strap.

This strap can be altered at the buckle situated between the horse’s front legs.


Step 5

If there is a running or standing martingale attachment, it should be fitted at the correct length.
