Unloading the Horse from a Front Unloading Trailer

Always unload the horse in the safest, quietest area possible.

Step 1

Let down the front ramp and enter the trailer.


Step 2

Undo the breast bar and open the front partition to allow more room for the horse to exit the trailer.

Untie the horse.


Step 3

Lead the horse to the ramp.

It is wise to encourage the horse to halt before allowing them to walk down the ramp, this discourages them from rushing or barging out of the trailer.


Step 4

Lead the horse down the ramp encouraging them to walk out slowly.
